You pick the range.
It handles the break.
DoIt Advanced Range Breakout trades the break of a range you choose. Set the hours in London, New York or Frankfurt time and it converts them to your broker's clock, daylight saving included. Buy stop and sell stop at the range, and the risk you planned stays the risk you take when the entry slips.
Spread filter, exchange holiday calendars and prop firm protection built in. No martingale, no grid.

A beautiful backtest,
and not a word about the open.
A curve that only goes up, range hours in a broker time nobody explains, and silence about what happens when the stop order fills at the open. Then your first news day explains it for them.
Most breakout losses that hurt are not the strategy. They are the execution: the wrong hours on your broker, a stop that stayed where it was after the entry slipped, an order sent into a blown out spread, a position held over an exchange holiday.
Those are the parts this EA is built for.
A promised edge vs the execution
I tested a default setting with pass or fail rules fixed before looking at the results, and it did not pass. So I do not sell you an edge. I sell what I can prove: the execution.
A curve to buy, a setting to trust.
- Optimized backtest sold as the product
- Range hours in a server time nobody explains
- The stop stays where it was after a slipped entry
- Orders sent into blown out spreads
- Positions held over exchange holidays
- Prop firm limits left to luck
Your range, executed properly.
- Range in market time, converted to your broker's clock
- SL and TP move with the fill when the entry slips
- Orders held back while the spread is blown out
- NYSE and Eurex holiday calendars
- Daily loss, daily drawdown and total loss limits
- Factory settings sold as a template, not as a promise
What is inside DoIt Advanced Range Breakout
MT5 and MT4 from the same code. Every number below comes from my own tests, with the symbol, period and data type next to it.
Two ways to find the levels
Daily range: the high and low between two times you choose. Swing levels: the unbroken swing highs and lows, with kill zones in the time zone you choose.
Market time, any broker
Write the range in New York, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, UTC or server time. The EA works out your broker's offset and daylight saving rule by itself and shows both windows on the panel.
Slipped entry, moved stop
When a stop order fills worse than its price, SL and TP move with the fill. US30, real ticks, January to October 2026: 122 of the 123 slipped entries had their stop moved; the other one was covered by a virtual stop.
Lot size from your risk
% of the balance, % of a fixed account size, or a fixed lot. If the lot for your risk is below the broker minimum, it uses the minimum lot and the log tells you how many R it risks.
Spread filter
Orders wait while the spread is blown out against its own 60 minute median and go back when it is normal. US30, real ticks 2026: 12 entries with a blown out spread with the filter, 19 without it.
Exchange holidays
NYSE and Eurex calendars picked from the symbol, plus your own days. No range and no position into a holiday or an early close. US30, 2021 to 2026: 0 nights held over a holiday close with the calendar, 2 without it.
Prop firm protection
Daily loss (on the initial balance, the way most firms count it), daily drawdown, total loss, maximum trades per day, and a risk budget that shrinks or skips an order whose stop would break the limit. US30, 2021 to 2026, 3% per trade and a 4.5% daily limit: days above 5% went from 494 to 0.
Trade management and panel
Break even and partial close in R, trailing stop, Friday close. A panel with today's levels, spread, risk in R, day P/L against your limit and the last 30 trades, plus PAUSE and CLOSE ALL.
From the range to the timed exit
Panel recreated with Strategy Tester values. Symbol, date and data type on every image.
What it does well, and what it cannot
Before looking at any result I fixed four pass or fail checks for a default setting: out of sample, real ticks, stress and neighbouring windows. Neither gold nor USDJPY passed all four. That is why it ships as a tool.
What it does DOES
- Puts your range in the right hours on any broker
- Keeps the planned risk when the entry slips
- Holds orders back in a blown out spread
- Stays out of exchange holidays and early closes
- Respects the daily and total limits you set
- Tells you in the log why it did not trade
What it cannot give you CANNOT
- A validated setting: the factory values are a template
- Protection from slippage on the way out (up to 1.52 R on a 15:30 news exit in my US30 test)
- Short losing streaks: breakouts have long ones
- A pass in any prop firm program: check your firm's rules
- Live results: there is no live track for this EA
- Profit: no Expert Advisor can promise it
Five steps, demo first always
The user guide has a starting window for each market, with its numbers and its limits. You adapt it to your broker.
Factory settings: daily range on gold, 04:00 to 10:00 London time, both stop orders, stop loss at the other side of the range, positions closed at 17:00 London, 0.5% of the balance per trade, spread filter and holiday calendar on, prop firm limits off.
On gold, 0.01 lot with that range risked a median of $40 per trade in 2026, and 1 order in 17 risked more than $100. Whether your account is big enough for the symbol is your call.
Who this is not for
What DoIt Advanced Range Breakout does not do
- ✕It does not come with a validated setting. The factory values are a starting template for gold.
- ✕It does not have a live track record. Every number on this page is from the Strategy Tester, with the data type next to it.
- ✕It does not fix exit slippage. On a news release the exit through the stop can still cost more than planned.
- ✕It does not average down. No martingale, no grid, a stop loss on every order.
- ✕It does not pass a challenge for you. The prop limits close ALL positions on the account when they trigger, other EAs' included.
- ✕It does not guarantee results. It executes your plan; the market decides the rest.
If you want a curve to trust, there are plenty for sale. If you already like range breakouts and want them executed properly, keep reading.
Built by Diego, founder of DoItTrading
I build trading tools the way I wish more vendors did: logic you can inspect, honest defaults, numbers with their data type next to them, and no profit promises.
This EA is the result of testing range breakouts until the execution was the part I could defend: the hours, the stop after a slipped fill, the spread, the holidays and the daily limit.

Questions worth answering before you buy
Are the factory values a tested, profitable setting?
No. Before looking at any result I fixed four pass or fail checks for a default setting (out of sample, real ticks, stress and neighbouring windows). Neither gold nor USDJPY passed all four. So it ships as a tool: you choose the market and the window, and the factory values are a template for XAUUSD.
Is there a live track record?
No. This EA has no live account behind it. Every number on this page comes from the Strategy Tester, and each one says the symbol, the period and whether it used real ticks.
Does it use martingale or grid?
No. One order per side of the range in daily mode, and the maximum buys and sells you set in swing mode. Orders go out with their stop loss.
Which hours do I set for my broker?
You do not convert anything. Write the range in the market's own time (London, New York, Frankfurt, Tokyo or UTC) and the EA works out your broker's offset and daylight saving. The panel shows both windows so you can check them.
Does it work with prop firms?
It has daily loss, daily drawdown and total loss limits, maximum trades per day and a trading day that starts at midnight Prague time or your own reset. It does not pass any program for you: check your firm's rules. The limits close ALL positions on the account when they trigger.
Why did it not trade today?
The Experts tab says why. The usual reasons: an exchange holiday, the price already beyond a level when the range ended, a breakout during a blown out spread or a pause, a range outside the size filter, the daily trade limit, a prop firm limit, or Algo Trading switched off.
How do I backtest it properly?
Use 1 minute OHLC to compare windows quickly, then confirm the one you keep with "Every tick based on real ticks". On indices, and with any trailing stop, the real ticks result is the one that counts.
Do I get both MT4 and MT5?
Yes. With the direct purchase both platform versions come in one price, on one license tied to your email.
How does delivery work?
Instant. You receive a license key and account access by email right after checkout. Downloads for MT4 and MT5, the user guide and support live at doittrading.com/account. MetaTrader must allow WebRequest for https://doittrading.com so the EA can validate its license.
Why can checkout be higher than the listed price?
VAT or local taxes may be added at checkout depending on your country. The final amount is calculated by the checkout provider, not by DoItTrading.
