Portfolio Lab

Your reports, in one place

Choose a project, confirm the shared settings and upload one report per strategy. Files stay in your browser until you submit an authenticated analysis.

How to use

From report to a useful comparison

Use comparable historical data and check the input totals before interpreting a portfolio.

  1. Prepare a separate report for every strategy

Set MetaTrader 5 to English, run a test and export its complete Strategy Tester HTML report, including the Deals table and summary. Use one report per strategy and clear names. Screenshots, PDFs, EA files and live-account statements are not accepted as trade reports.

  2. Align the period and currency

Use the same account currency and confirm that every report uses the same broker clock. Choose a period wholly covered by every report, with no position crossing its boundaries. Starting capital is the shared portfolio capital, not the sum of original deposits. Changing it does not resize original trade volumes.

  3. Verify what was imported

Review the accepted trade count and net profit against each source report. A result outside the selected period is not included. Resolve import errors and unexpected totals before using the comparison.

  4. Inspect risk and missing evidence

Start with realized balance and drawdown, then inspect recovery time, monthly losses and who contributed during the worst decline. Initial-capital and peak-based percentages use different denominators. Without a validated optional M1 price package, floating equity is not evaluated. Even M1 closing prices cannot reveal every intraminute loss.

  5. Compare contributions, then keep the evidence

Toggle any combination against the fixed full-portfolio reference, set your own drawdown threshold and export the readable report or JSON. These comparisons use no further analyses. Advanced access adds reproducible daily-block Monte Carlo and saved references. A new completed stress run uses one analysis; the model is conditional on history, not proof of future robustness.

Get prices from your MT5 broker

The optional exporter reads historical M1 prices and contract information from your own MT5 terminal. It never opens or changes trades. Use the same broker, symbol, clock and dates as the trade report.

Download the MT5 M1 exporter
How to use

In MT5, choose File → Open Data Folder. Copy the downloaded .ex5 into MQL5 → Scripts, then refresh Navigator → Scripts. Run PortfolioLab_ExportM1 on the matching symbol chart. Set the same report dates: start included, end excluded. Defaults cover the last 30 complete days; the exporter supports up to 120 days. Find its JSON output in MQL5 → Files → PortfolioLab and attach it with your reports.

The import supports at most 150,000 bars, 30,000 output samples and a 16 MiB package. Profit currency must equal account currency and the linear contract calculation must match every reported gross trade profit. Missing minutes while positions are open fail validation; gaps are never filled by guessing.

Supported input formats

Accepted: complete English MT5 tester HTML in UTF-8 or UTF-16 with a byte-order mark, decimal-point numbers, one initial deposit, full entries and exits, and one open position per symbol within each report. Not accepted: partial closes, reversals, same-second entry and exit, overlapping positions on the same symbol in one report, open positions, extra cash transfers or missing rows. Summary counts, deal balances, net profit and footer totals must reconcile. There is no silent data correction.

What Portfolio Lab includes

Portfolio Lab combines historical reports, explains their risk and supports research comparisons. It does not execute trades, recommend entries, supply EAs, activate EA licences or guarantee profit. It does not simulate competition for margin or account-wide trading restrictions. Features and capacity follow the access shown in your account.

Features & access

Know exactly what access means

Free access supports validated historical analysis and interactive comparisons. Pro adds advanced research and greater capacity. Your account shows the features and allowance currently available to you.

What you can use today

Source reconciliation, balance and drawdown, arbitrary strategy combinations, monthly results, episode attribution, evidence checks, readable HTML and JSON export.

Advanced research · Pro

Joint calendar-block Monte Carlo, configurable loss and cost stress, reproducible seeds and immutable saved references. Available with verified Pro access or explicitly granted mirror review access. These remain historical research tools, not proof of future robustness.

Optional M1 evidence · bounded model

Validated minute-close equity estimates from a compatible price package, using linear contracts in the account currency. Source coverage and contract checks are mandatory. This is separate from balance Monte Carlo and is not tick-level equity.

The calculation policy does not change with account capacity. Interactive selection changes use no additional analyses. Each completed new analysis or stress run uses one unit.

Pro is a monthly Gumroad membership. Review the price and recurring-payment terms in checkout before completing your purchase.

Use the same email as your Portfolio Lab account. Returning from checkout does not activate access instantly: the background service must verify the membership and monthly charge.

Account access, not an EA licence

Portfolio Lab access belongs to your verified account. It does not use machine activations and does not change your existing EA licences, downloads or purchases.

Pro renewal and cancellation

Each verified monthly charge provides 30 analyses. Unused analyses do not roll over: the new verified charge replaces the previous allowance. Manage renewal in your Gumroad library. Stopping renewal keeps access while Gumroad recognises the membership as active; ending, refund or dispute can remove paid access. A failed renewal does not issue a new allowance.

Keep your research record

Current Free retention: valid original reports 30 days; completed results 90 days. Failed-analysis files are removed during cleanup. Export important results before expiry. Saved selections do not preserve expired source files or turn Lab into permanent storage.

When verified paid access ends, Free capacity applies. Retained results remain available for export and projects above the active limit become read-only. Cancelling or refreshing your membership does not refill the current allowance.
